Hezbollah leads major assault on key district in southern Aleppo
Hezbollah, backed by the Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard, launched a powerful assault at the 1070 Al-Hamdaniyah Housing Project in southern Aleppo tonight, striking the jihadist rebel defenses at the southern sector of this district.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah managed to capture at least 90 percent of the 1070 Al-Hamdaniyah Housing Project, leaving only a small portion of this district left under the control of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest).
Even if the 1070 Housing Project is captured tonight, the Syrian Armed Forces will still need to seize the Hikmah School in order to maintain control over this southern Aleppo district.
The Hikmah School is one of the only reasons the jihadist rebels still possess fire-control over the 1070 Housing Project; it is also overlooks this district, which gives Jaysh Al-Fateh the territorial advantage.
