Official: ISIL Executes over 230 Iraqi Civilians in Mosul
ISIL executed over 230 civilians in Mosul as the battle to liberate the Iraqi city from the terrorist group has gained momentum, an Iraqi official said.
“ISIL militants continued to commit atrocities in the province of Nineveh, they executed 190 people in the area of Hammam al-Alil after taking them hostage in different areas of Mosul,” said the chairman of the Iraqi parliamentary human rights committee, Abdel Rakhim Shamri, presstv reported.
He added that another 42 people were taken from the village of Arij and executed after they refused to cooperate with the terrorists.
Shamri also called on Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to facilitate the airlifting of civilians from ISIL-held areas in Mosul as the terrorists are using them as human shields.
25 Terrorists Killed South Of Rutba as Anbar Operations Continue
The Iraqi Army’s Anbar Operations Command confirmed that 25 militants of ISIL terror group were killed South of Rutba district in the province of Anbar.
“The Iraqi warplanes have bombed a convoy of 10 vehicles used by ISIL’ terrorists on a road 45 kilometers to South of Rutba, which resulted in complete destruction of the convoy,” the operations Commander Maj. Gen. Ismail al-Mahlawi said, Badr News reported.
“The bombing has killed 25 terrorists who were inside those vehicles”, the commander added.
The Iraqi security forces have been conducting the operation to purge the Anbar province of ISIL militants, and the operation entered a different chapter after Iraqi Army and its allies started the military campaign to liberate the major city of Mosul from the ISIL control.
Iraqi Forces, Allies Expel ISIL from Nine More Villages near Mosul
Iraqi army troops and their allies continued their operations against the ISIL radical group in the vicinity of Iraq’s Northern city of Mosul, and secured at least nine villages.
The Peshmerga forces also hit ISIL positions in the Eastern suburb of Mosul, using heavy artillery, ARA News reported.
“Subsequent to fierce clashes, the Kurdish Peshmerga forces expelled ISIL from several villages in the Hamdaniya region East of Mosul, including the Qaraqoush Village,” a Peshmerga officer said.
The officer added that their forces also pushed ISIL out of the Shabak-populated village of Khersbad, about 10km North of Mosul.
ISIL’s ‘Rambo’ Killed in Battles South of Mosul
A notorious ISIL commander who was also among the inner ring of ISIL Leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi’s most trusted men, was killed during clashes with Iraqi security forces South of Mosul.
Abu Iman al-Mouseli, who was also called ‘Rambo’ by ISIL militants for his bulky build, was killed in an attack by Iraqi security forces in the vicinity of Shoura region, South of Mosul.
Al-Mouseli was in charge of ISIL’s special security unit, formed to provide an increased protection for the ISIL-held Mosul against impending attacks by the Iraqi Army forces.
