“Saudi aggression on Yemen targets popular resistance”
Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari said on Saturday that Saudi attacks on Yemeni people and the country’s infrastructure are not mistake but a deliberate aggression to undermine the resistance of Yemeni nation.
He made it clear that such measures and the economic blockade on Yemen would not materialize the goals of the Saudi aggressors.
Noting that shooting a missile at a US warship was a suspicious incident, the official said that it is possible that this act has been done by Sana’a government opposition groups to prepare the ground for US military intervention in Yemen.
‘The security of Bab-el-Mandeb international waterway is of significance for us and needs to be respected by all the parties involved,’ Jaberi Ansari said.
He touched upon the humanitarian crises across Iraq and Syria, urging the necessity of finding a political settlement to the conflicts.
The Swiss deputy foreign minister, for his part, said that the high number of casualties and magnitude of the humanitarian plight in Yemen are alarming, calling for the peaceful nature of Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.
The Swiss deputy foreign minister expressed deep concern about deterioration of humanitarian crises in Syria and Iraq.
