Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) have liberated 16 villages near Tal ‘Afar, since launching their 3rd phase of the Mosul offensive.
“Our forces liberated 16 villages in western Mosul during our recent military operations. We have liberated the Tal ‘Afar Airport, which was a great achievement for our armed forces,” the Spokesperson for the PMU, Ahmad Assadi, said on Friday.
Assadi added that the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) terrorists suffered heavy casualties during the PMU’s military operations.
The Popular Mobilization Units will begin their new operation to liberate the second Tal ‘Afar Airport in the coming days.
