Syrian Army soldiers and the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters carried out a joint attack on Jeish al-Fatah coalition of terrorist groups in the Eastern part of Aleppo city and captured key heights that overlook several militant-held neighborhoods.

Army soldiers and Hezbollah combatants, backed up by Syrian fighter jets, engaged in fierce clashes with Nouralddeen al-Zinki terrorists and pushed them back from their positions in al-Zohour heights in Araz al-Hamra region.

Battlefield sources reported over 20 casualties on the militants’ side.

Al-Zohour heights overlook the militant-held district of Hananou and several other neighborhoods in the Eastern part of the city.

The newly liberated al-Zohour heights also overlook an old road that connects the Eastern part of Aleppo city to Sheikh Najjar industrial zone.

In the meantime, army’s artillery and missile units shelled terrorists’ positions in the districts of Hananou, Youth Housing Complex, Ba’abadn, Jabal Badrou and al-Hamra.

Media reports claimed on Saturday that the Hezbollah resistance movement sent more troops to Syria to take part in the fight against the terrorists in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib,

“Hezbollah has dispatched another brigade to Syria who has been deployed just outside the city of Aleppo,” the Russian Izvestia newspaper reported on Saturday.

The paper quoted retired Syrian army general Brigadier General Ali Maqsoud as saying that the Hezbollah fighters would move to Idlib to prepare for military operations there after capturing Aleppo city and its surrounding regions.

The Hezbollah fighters are only a part of the forces present in the Aleppo operations, he said.

Other reports claimed that the total number of Hezbollah fighters in Syria now stands at 5,000 with heavy artillery and weapons systems.

No other source in Syria or Hezbollah has confirmed the reports yet.
