Syrian Army begins last stage of east Aleppo offensive
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a new assault inside the Sheikh Sa’eed District this morning, kicking off the last phase of their east Aleppo offensive to expel the remaining jihadist elements embedded in the provincial capital.
Led by the Tiger Forces and Desert Hawks Brigade, the Syrian Arab Army began their assault on Sheikh Sa’eed by attacking Jaysh Al-Fateh’s defenses from several axes around this east Aleppo district.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Syrian Arab Army has already made significant progress inside the western sector of Sheikh Sa’eed, killing and wounding several remaining jihadist fighters that refuse to surrender their arms.
Meanwhile, north of Sheikh Sa’eed, the Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard Forces and allied Desert Hawks Brigade are preparing to storm the Sukkari District if Fatah Halab does not accept the recent terms of surrender.
Thus far, Fatah Halab militants in Sukkari have rejected all of the Syrian Army’s offers; instead, they asked for a 5 day long ceasefire in east Aleppo, which the government has yet to respond to.
