Secretary General of Iraq’s Badr Organization Hadi al-Ameri disclosed that the ISIL’s supply and aid routes from the city of Mosul to Syria have been completely cut off.

“The road connecting Nineveh province to the border with Syria has been fully seized back and the ISIL’s supplies to its militants have been suspended,” al-Ameri said on Wednesday.

He reiterated that the terrorists have been trying hard to reopen the supply route, but to no avail.

“The routes that the Iraqi volunteer forces have taken back include al-Jahish and Northern al-Sharia regions to the main Tal Afar-Sinjar road as well as the Southern al-Sharia and al-Vasat regions to the road leading to Tal Afar,” al-Ameri said.

He underlined that the terrorists are pushing hard to regain control of these regions again, but they have failed so far.

“The terrorists have been disappointed after the Iraqi army liberated the villages of Ain al-Qazal, Central Abu Sanam, Southern Abu Sanam, al-Majan, al-Shoveireh, al-Shouri and Aziz Aqa; we continue our advances and will tighten seige on the terrorists,” al-Ameri added.

He assured the Iraqi people that the victory of Iraq’s joint military forces is imminent in the Mosul liberation operation.

Earlier on Wednesday, the elite forces of Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) identified and destroyed an ISIL training camp while on their way to liberate the city of Mosul.

A CTS commander, Brigadier General Haider Fadhil said that Iraqi forces have fully liberated and cleared out the al-Falah district, located on the city’s Eastern side, presstv reported.

“We are now in al-Falah al-Oula and al-Falah al-Thaniya. We breached the defensive lines of the terrorist ISIL and we pushed deeper inside. Now we are carrying search operations in the neighborhood and we found Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi Camp. We seized it and we confiscated all the equipment. The camp contains military equipment and a field for physical training of fighters to prepare them to fight the security forces,” he said.

Earlier, Iraqi forces announced that they had wrested control of two villages in Western Tal Abtah and Tal Afar and liberated the Sanaiyah district in Eastern Mosul during clashes that killed 20 militants.

Earlier this week, an Iraqi military spokesman announced that several thousand Iraqi federal police forces are getting prepared to join the assault against the terrorists in Eastern Mosul.

The Iraqi army and volunteer fighters have been leading a large offensive to retake Mosul since October 17. The Northern city of Mosul fell to ISIL in 2014, when the terror outfit began its campaign of death and destruction in the Arab country. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has vowed that Mosul would be fully recaptured by the end of 2016.
