Hashd Al-Shaabi Repels ISIL’s Attack on Beiji-Mosul Road, Kills 50 Terrorists
Sources privy to Hashd al-Shaabi disclosed that at least 50 ISIL terrorists were killed and several of their vehicles were destroyed in fierce clashes.
Meantime, the Iraqi volunteer forces blocked the ISIL terrorists’ advances from Beiji to Sharqat road, killing and injuring several of them.
In relevant remarks on Monday, informed sources in Iraq disclosed that the country’s joint military forces had recaptured a strategic region Southwest of the town of Haditha some 160 kilometers West of the city of Ramadi as Hashd al-Shaabi foiled an attempt by the ISIL terrorist group to penetrate into areas near the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf.
“The al-Makhazen region in the Southwestern Haditha is now purged of the ISIL terrorists,” the Arabic-language media quoted an unnamed Iraqi source as saying.
Meantime, another Iraqi source also said that the ISIL terrorists have failed to cross al-Nakhib desert to reach areas Northwest of Karbala and Najaf.
In a relevant development earlier on Monday, the Iraqi army and Hashd al-Shaabi repelled an attack by the ISIL terrorist group on the government troops’ military base in the Western part of al-Anbar province.
“The Iraqi army and volunteer forces managed to resist against the terrorists’ attack West of Ramadi,” Commander of al-Baraq Forces (affiliated to Hashd al-Shaabi) Vaseq al-Fartous told the Arabic-language al-Suemria news website.
The commander noted that the ISIL terrorists attacked the headquarters of a military base of the Iraqi Army’s First Division in al-Kilo region located 160 kilometers West of the city of al-Ramadi in al-Anbar province, but they were pushed back by the Iraqi army.
He said that the ISIL terrorists attacked the Iraqi army’s military base in al-Kilo region while driving in DshK-equipped military vehicles, but they were forced by the Iraqi army troops to withdraw after sustaining heavy material and human losses.
Also on Monday, Iraq’s joint military forces continued their advances in different parts of Nineveh province, inflicting heavy losses on the ISIL.
The Iraqi forces killed 38 terrorists Southeast of Nineveh province and destroyed several of their military vehicles, the Iraqi defense ministry announced in a statement.
Meantime, the Iraqi Hezbollah Battalions hit the ISIL’s bomb-laden cars in the Western part of the city of Tal Afar, killing 30 terrorists and wounding many more.
A sum of five bomb-laden vehicles of the terrorists were also destroyed in Hezbollah Battalion’s offensive.
Also on Sunday, a senior member of the Nineveh Provincial Council disclosed that at least 2,000 ISIL terrorists have been killed since the start of the Mosul Liberation Operation in Northwestern Iraq.
Abdul Sattar al-Habo was quoted by al-Ma’aloumeh news as saying that at least 2,000 ISIL terrorists have been killed since October 17 when the Iraqi forces and popular forces kicked off the Mosul Liberation Operation.
He further added that after Iraqi forces intensified operations in the region, around 160 members of ISIL have been killed each day.
Al-Habo went on to say that the number of ISIL fatalities went high since all their escape routes have been found and blocked, specially the road from the back of Mosul.
