Syrian Army inflicts heavy damage on ISIL’s defenses in east Aleppo
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) conducted a powerful assault against the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS) forces in the eastern countryside of Aleppo on Monday, striking the latter’s defenses inside the contested Deir Hafer Plains.
Syrian Army rocket battalions pounded the Islamic State-held towns of Rasm Al-Hermel Al-Imam and Al-Hermeli in the Deir Hafer countryside, causing significant damage to the terrorist group’s defenses on Monday.
According to a military source in Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army’s rocket battalions destroyed as many as 8 armored vehicles belonging to the Islamic State militants in the Deir Hafer countryside, including several pick-up trucks that were fitted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns.
Today’s attack on the Deir Hafer countryside marked the first time this month that the Syrian Arab Army has conducted field operations against the Islamic State forces.
