Yemeni Tribes Reiterate Readiness to Cooperate with Army against Saudi Aggression

11 January 2017 17:24

Several Yemeni tribes formed new military units to fight against the Saudi coalition’s aggression on their country.

Al-Mashhad al-Yemeni news website reported that the Yemeni tribes have formed military units to fight against the Saudi-led occupation of their country, specially after the aggressors rejected any solution to end the crisis in Yemen.

Al-Hamiya al-Dakheliya tribe displayed its military forces’ readiness to join the army and Ansarullah forces in the fight against the Saudi aggressors in military parades on Tuesday morning.

Also, sources in al-Mahviat tribes underscored its preparedness to confront Saudi Arabia and the US plots to occupy their country.

In addition, a new group of fresh trained forces, named Martyr al-Khiwani unit, ended their combat and military training courses, as a third group to join the Yemeni army.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen since March 2015 to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 12,800 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

According to several reports, the Saudi-led air campaign against Yemen has drove the impoverished country towards humanitarian disaster.

At least a dozen people, including a woman and some children, lost their lives and several others sustained injuries when Saudi military aircraft conducted a string of airstrikes against various areas across Yemen in the past few days.

Saudi jets launched three aerial attacks against an outdoor market in the Nihm district of the Western-central province of Sana’a on Tuesday morning, killing a little girl and two other civilians. Several people were also injured in the assaults.

Eight people were killed and 15 others injured shortly afterwards when Saudi warplanes struck a nearby school.

Shabawah area in Ta’izz Province was also hit, though no reports of casualties were available.

Moreover, Saudi warplanes pounded an area in the Monabbih district of the mountainous northwestern province of Sa’ada as well. There were no immediate reports of casualties and the extent of damage.

A woman also lost her life on Monday night, when Saudi jets carried out a strike in the same Yemeni province.
