President Rouhani visits Ayat. Hashemi’s tomb
To repay homage to the recently died and newly buried Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, President Hassan Rouhani visited Imam Khomeini’s Mausoleum in Tehran on Friday morning.
President Hassan Rouhani visited Imam Khomeini’s Mausoleum in southern outskirts of Tehran to attend the tomb of newly buried Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani on Friday morning.
The Late Ayatollah Hashemi passed away on Sunday after a heart attack at age 82 and was buried next to Imam Khomeini’s tomb on Tuesday at a funeral ceremony attended by hundreds of thousands of people and officials.
At the traditional wreath laying ceremony members of Ayatollah Hashemi’s family and Seyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Imam Khomeini accompanied Mr. Rouhani.
A tribute ceremony will be held on Sunday, seven days after the demise of Ayatollah Hashemi, as it is a tradition in Iran to hold religious processions commemorating the 3rd, 7th, and 40th day of the death of a newly deceased Muslim.
