Terror regime israel shells several sites in southern Gaza, no casualties reported
Terrorist israeli military forces have launched a barrage of artillery shells at several sites in the southern part of the Gaza Strip as the Tel Aviv regime goes ahead with its acts of aggression against the besieged Palestinian coastal territory.
Three shells slammed into the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Yunis, al-Qarara town north of Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah city, which lies in the central Gaza Strip and over 14 kilometers south of Gaza City, early on Friday. No immediate report of casualties were available though.
Israeli forces also fired flares in the targeted areas around the same time as the shelling.
Israeli media outlets claimed a locally-made rocket was fired from eastern Khan Yunis toward Kissufim military site in southern Israeli-occupied territories late on Thursday, causing no damage or injuries.
The Israeli military frequently bombs the Gaza Strip.
On March 2, Israeli military aircraft and a battle tank targeted two separate posts belonging to the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in northern Gaza Strip. No injuries were reported.
At least four people sustained injuries on February 27 after Israeli fighter jets struck the Nahda neighborhood of the border town of Rafah.
On February 9, Israeli warplanes targeted a lifeline tunnel in Rafah, leaving two Palestinians dead and five others injured. Gazans use the tunnels to bring basic commodities into the coastal enclave.
Palestinian sources identified the deceased as 24-year-old Hessam Hamid al-Soufi and 38-year-old Mohammad Anwar al-Aqra’, both residents of Gaza City.
The Gaza Strip has been under an Israeli siege since June 2007. The blockade has caused a decline in living standards as well as unprecedented unemployment and poverty.
Israel has also launched several wars on the Palestinian sliver, the last of which began in early July 2014. The 50-day Israeli military aggression, which ended on August 26, 2014, killed nearly 2,200 Palestinians. Over 11,100 others were also wounded in the war.
