Israeli airstrikes did not hit Hezbollah targets near Palmyra: army
An officer from the Syrian Air Defense told Al-Masdar News on Friday evening that reports of Israeli warplanes hitting Hezbollah targets near Palmyra were false.
According to the Syrian officer, the Israeli warplanes struck several sites around the recently liberated areas of Palmyra, causing minimal damage to the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses.
Following these airstrikes, the Syrian Air Defense responded by firing several anti-aircraft missiles towards the enemy warplanes, striking at least one aircraft near the Al-Bureij area.
Friday morning’s air raids marked the second time in six months that the Syrian Air Defense and Israeli Air Force have engaged one another inside Syria’s airspace.
