One killed, 15 injured in Cincinnati nightclub shooting
One person has died and at least 15 others have been injured after a gunman opened fire in a nightclub in Cincinnati, Ohio.
According to police, the suspected shooter is on the run after the incident, which happened around 2 a.m. at the Cameo Club. The motive of the shooter is not yet known.
The injured were taken to the hospital immediately. Assistant Police Chief Paul Neudigate said that several of the victims have life-threatening injuries.
“We are in the middle of a very horrific situation that occurred at the nightclub with multiple victims,” Neudigate said. “It’s going to be a long night for our homicide units to investigate.”
The police chief described the site as a “chaotic crime scene.”
He added that they were investigating the incident and looking for witnesses.
“Many of them fled, unfortunately. Many of the witnesses fled, but everyone that we can identify is being interviewed,” he said.
The shooting came less than a year after a lone gunman burst into a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, killing 49 people and injuring dozens.
