Hamas holds ceremony to mourn Fuqaha in Lebanon
Hamas Movement organized a ceremony in al-Bas refugee camp in the Lebanese city of Sour on Sunday to mourn al-Qassam commander Mazen Fuqaha who was assassinated on Friday in Gaza.
Several official delegations representing Lebanese political parties and Palestinian forces had attended the mourning ceremony and offered congratulations and condolences to the Palestinian people.
Member of Hamas’s political leadership in Lebanon Jihad Taha stressed that Fuqaha’s assassination would only strengthen the Movement’s strong determination and steadfastness.
He also stressed the importance of Palestinian adherence to resistance option and national unity.
Last Friday, al-Qassam leader Mazen Fuqaha was found killed near his house in Tel al-Hawa, south of Gaza.
Local sources said they believed Fuqaha was hit with a gun to which a sound suppressor is attached.
38-year-old Fuqaha was among over 1,000 Palestinians released from Israeli jails six years ago following the Wafa al-Ahrar prisoner swap deal struck with Hamas in exchange for the Israeli captive soldier Gilad Shalit.
