Senior rebel commander killed in southern Syria amid intensifying battles
Rashid Abazid, a top rebel commander at the Ops Room of Daraa Province, has been killed today in the battles with the Syrian Army in southern Syria.
Clashes escalated between the government forces and Islamist militants in al-Manshiyah district in Daraa whereby the insurgents managed to control more positions.
Even though the initial attack was repelled by the Syrian Army, the opposition forces, led by al-Qaeda offshoot Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, were capable of breaking through the Army’s defense lines.
This was only possible because the terrorist group used several VBIEDs.
