10 April 2017 15:12

Terrorists in two more regions in Southern Syria handed over their weapons to the Syrian Army troops and joined peace with the Damascus government, the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria said in its latest report.

“Representatives of militants in two regions in Dara’a province inked peace agreements with the Syrian government,” the Russian center said, adding, “The total number of regions, cities, towns and villages that have thus far joined the peace plan stands at 1,446 now.”

The center said that negotiations on joining the ceasefire regime have been held with various field commanders from the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, Hama and Quneitra as well.

The number of armed formations which have claimed to observe the ceasefire regime remained 140, the center pointed out.

Relevant reports said last week that militants in three more regions in different provinces endorsed the peace agreement with the Syrian Army and government.

“Representatives of militants in three residential regions in the provinces of Dara’a, Quneitra and Damascus turned themselves in to the relevant authorities and joined the nationwide peace plan,” the Russian center said, adding, “The total number of regions, cities, towns and villages that have thus far joined the peace plan stands at 1,434 now.”
