IRGC local commander martyred by Takfiris in southeast Iran: Report
A commander with Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has reportedly been assassinated by two terrorists in the country’s southeast.
Commander Rouhollah Aali was gunned down by “two Takfiri terrorists” while traveling to the Kurin District of Zahedan County in Iran’s Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province on duty, Tasnim News Agency reported on Tuesday.
The assailants were subsequently killed by Basij volunteer forces, it added.
Aali was the commander of the Kurin Battalion of Brigade 110 of the IRGC’s Salman Unit, which is assigned to Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province.
The IRGC has foiled numerous Takfiri plots to conduct terrorist activities in Iran and arrested many Takfiri elements.
Last June, Commander of the IRGC’s Ground Forces Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said the forces had captured a terrorist outfit in southwestern Iran, which had admitted to receiving Saudi and American backing.
