Youths close roads to Ramallah in solidarity with hunger strikers
Angry Palestinian young men on Sunday morning blocked several main roads to Ramallah city, preventing vehicles and citizens from reaching their destinations.
Young men told a reporter from the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that their closure of the roads was a step to express their protest and anger over “the very weak official solidarity” with the hunger-striking prisoners in Israeli jails.
The PIC reporter said dozens of young men closed at least three main entrances to Ramallah city with burning tires and mounds of dirt.
Later, Palestinian Authority security forces moved to the closed roads to clear them before traffic movement.
