Field Reports states Syrian Army’s major advance in western Raqqa
Syrian Army (SA) forces resumed an offensive targeting self-proclaimed ISIL positions in proximity of oil fields in western Raqqa, Saturday.
Footage shows fighters shelling IS locations, with smoke billowing over the skyline, and troops crossing the territory on board of tanks.
During the day, the SA reportedly liberated 14 IS-controlled sites.
Since resuming this offensive earlier this week, the Syrian Arab Army has managed to advance within 10km of the strategic town of Resafa, which is one of the ISIL’s last strongholds in the province.
