“The Syrian army’s military operations were kicked off from three directions, including in Jobar district and with the aim of impose overall dominance over the district,” a military source said.

Meantime, the Syrian army forces moved towards Ain Terma in the second phase and towards the towns of Arabeen and Zumalka in the third phase.

The Syrian fighter jets as well as missile and artillery units hit hard the terrorists’ military positions in these regions.

The Syrian army made a considerable advance towards Jobar district and also made rapid advances deep inside Ain Terma and took control of a mosque in Ain Terma and also several housing complexes in al-Dokhanieh region in the surrounding areas of al-Jud factory and several housing complexes adjacent to al-Kahyr markets.

In a relevant development on Tuesday, the Syrian army engaged in clashes with the terrorists in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and regained control of several points after militants violated the ceasefire.

The terrorists stationed in Ain Tarma and the adjacent farms in Eastern Ghouta targeted al-Dokhaniyeh region near Damascus with mortars, killing and wounding several civilians.

In response, the army forces attacked the terrorists’ positions in Jobar, Ain Tarma and Arabayn in Eastern Damascus with artillery and missile fire and retook control of certain regions between Jobar and al-Kabas bridge by advancing through the Ain Tarma front.

The Syrian air force also pounded several positions of the terrorists in Jobar district of Eastern Damascus.

The Syrian army last week sent hundreds of reinforcements to Damascus province as security sources disclosed that the government troops are preparing for sensitive and massive military operations near the capital city.

“The Syrian army intends to kick off a large-scale military operation soon to recapture Jobar district from terrorists,” a security source said.

The source went on to say that Damascus is in the final stage of preparations to dispatch troops and military equipment to the vital front while the missile and artillery units of the Syrian army are continuously targeting the terrorists’ defense lines in the region.

“Jobar is highly important for the Damascus government because by recapturing this region, the terrorists will no longer be able to hit the capital city with their rockets and mortar shells.

The Syrian army and air force continued raiding Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) in Southwestern and Southeastern Damascus, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.
