Terrorist ISIL Heavily Defeated in Failed Attack against Deir Ezzur
The Syrian troops engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists who wanted to occupy al-Roshdiyeh district in Deir Ezzur, leaving several militants dead and repelling their offensive.
Meantime, the army’s artillery units targeted ISIL’s moves near the regions of al-Maqaber (cemetery), al-Roshdiyeh, al-Huwaiqeh, al-Baliqiyeh and areas near Brigade 137, killing over 18 ISIL militants and smashing several of their military vehicles.
Also, the Russian and Syrian fighter jets launched several attacks on ISIL positions and moves near Huwaijeh al-Mariyeh region near Panorama and the paper factory in Southern Deir Ezzur and al-Bu Lail in the Southern parts of Deir Ezzur, inflicting heavy damage on the terrorists.
The Syrian warplanes also heavily pounded the ISIL positions in Wadi Tharda, two districts of al-Huwaiqeh and al-Roshdiyeh, the villages of al-Husseiniyeh, al-Shoula and Ma’adan and the town of Mu Hassan, killing a number of militants.
In a relevant development on Monday, the Syrian armed forces and the Russian air force launched heavy attacks on ISIL’s defense lines after the terrorists’ large-scale offensive on pro-government forces’ positions in Deir Ezzur was repulsed.
The ISIL launched an offensive in Deir Ezzur province, targeting the Syrian army positions around the Panorama roundabout in the Western outskirts of Deir Ezzur city.
ISIL began the assault by storming the army’s defense lines East of the Panorama School which resulted in fierce clashes.
As the Takfiri terrorists failed to advance against the army, the ISIL tried to bring in reinforcements from the Tayyem valley, but pro-government forces hit their vehicles, destroying them and killing scores of militants.
According to reports, over 10 militants were killed near the Panorama Roundabout and a large number of other ISIL elements were killed in the Tayyem valley.
