Syrian Army Nearing Euphrates River in Raqqa Province

The Syrian Army troops continued to hit ISIL’s defense lines in Southeastern Raqqa, and deployed in regions close to the Euphrates River.

The army units managed to deploy close to the last small but key town that is under the control of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces and Manbij Military Council after driving ISIL out of the towns of al-Dakhileh and Ba’ar al-Sabkhawi and al-Sabkhawi gas field.

The army forces are only 18km away from the Euphrates River.

The Syrian Army is now is close to the Euphrates River and the Deir Ezzur provincial border with the Raqqa province, a field source confirmed.

Relevant reports said on Sunday that the army men engaged in tough battle with ISIL and pushed them back fromm the towns of al-Dakhileh, Ba’ar al-Sabkhawi and al-Sabkhawi gas field in the depth of Syria’s Badiyeh (desert).

The army aircraft intensified air attacks on ISIL’s positions and supply lines in the town of Ma’adan and Ba’ar al-Sabkhawi, destroying several command centers and a large volume of military equipment.

A large number of terrorists were killed and several bomb-laden or military vehicles of ISIL were destroyed in the attacks.
