Hezbollah Winding up Battle against Terrorists in Mountainous Region at Lebanon-Syria Border
The General Command said that the Hezbollah combatants continued their operation in Arsal heights at Lebanon-Syria border on the fourth day of operation and drove Al-Nusra out of 80 percent of the heights.
The general command further said that his forces have seized control of Al-Nusra’s operation room in Haqab al-Kheil height that was under the command of Abu Malik al-Tali, adding that Hezbollah fighters destroyed the telecommunication system of Al-Nusra in Arsal.
In the meantime, a large number of terrorists retreated from their positions and moved toward contact lines with ISIL in Eastern Arsal and also a large number of Al-Nusra fled the battlefield toward Wadi Hamid and al-Malahi regions following Hezbollah’s advances in Arsal and collapse of Al-Nusra Front in the region.
An Arab media outlet reported on Monday that the Lebanese Hezbollah troops drove terrorist groups out of almost 80 percent of lands in Arsal heights.
The Arabic-language al-Mayadeen news network said that the resistance forces imposed control over almost 80 percent of Arsal heights adjacent to the town of Arsal after four days of non-stop battle with terrorists.
Terrorists were only in five regions of Wadi al-Kabir, Wadi Hamid, Khirbet Unin, Sahal Ajram and al-Malahi regions in Arsal heights, al-Mayadeen added.
In the meantime, the commanders of Hezbollah forces in Arsal called on the remaining pockets of the terrorists in Arsal heights to hand over their arms and surrender to the relevant officials to prevent more bloodshed.
