Breaking: Iraqi military launches important offensive near Syrian border-city
Iraqi military launched a new offensive near the Syrian border, targeting the key town of Anah in the Al-Anbar Governorate.
Led by the army, the Iraqi military and their tribal allies launched the attack on Anah from their positions at nearby Haditha.
Once Anah is liberated, the Iraqi military will be in position to strike the border-city of Al-Qa’im, which is located near the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor.
The Deir Ezzor Governorate is home to the Islamic State’s de facto capital, Al-Mayadeen, along the vast Euphrates River.
