Terrorists Withdraw from More Regions in Central Syria
The army men engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL and captured the villages of al-Qasemiyeh al-Shamali, Rabi’eh and Maqizal Northeast of Jubb al-Jarah.
A military source said that ISIL suffered heavy casualties, adding that the army’s engineering units are now demining the newly-captured regions.
Relevant reports said on Monday that the army troops, backed up by the country’s Air Force, managed to repel ISIL’s heavy attacks on their positions East of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur), imposing major losses on the terrorists.
The army men, supported by warplanes, engaged in fierce clashes with a group of ISIL terrorists in the depth of Badiyeh (desert) in the third Station region towards the town of al-Sukhnah and in al-Mahzam region Southwest of al-Sukhnah, and managed to fend off the militants’ attacks.
A large number of terrorists were killed and at least seven military vehicles were damaged in the clashes.
