4 October 2017 12:59

The Syrian Army troops pushed ISIL back from two more key regions in Eastern Homs on Wednesday, expanding the range of their advances against terrorists in the Central part of the war-hit country.

The army soldiers took control over the villages of al-Jaberiyeh and Baraqa al-Nashmeh North of the village of Um al-Rish.

A military source said that the army men have gained military control over the villages of al-Wazihi and Tuweineh after capturing al-Jaberiyeh and Baraqa al-Nashmeh, adding that the army has kicked off fresh operations to liberate al-Wazihi and Tuweineh.

A military source said on Tuesday that the army sent a large number of fresh forces and a large volume of weapons and ammunition to Eastern Homs to reinvigorate the pro-government forces in Badiyeh (desert) to face ISIL’s recent threats.

The source said that large groups of army soldiers along with a long convoy of military hardware were forwarded to Eastern Homs to be used in anti-ISIL operations in the region.

The sources further said that tough battles were underway between the army and ISIL terrorists in several flanks East of the town of al-Sukhnah, near the third station, al-Heil oilfield and in Qasr al-Hayer al-Sharqi region, adding that the army men were advancing toward al-Saroukh region Southeast of al-Sukhnah.
