Syria to powerfully overcome crisis: Iran MP
The war-stricken country of Syria will resolve the crisis it has been facing since March 2011 more powerfully than before, a senior Iranian lawmaker said in this northwestern Syrian city.
Syria with the help of altruism and unity will overcome crisis, Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Wednesday evening during his visit to Aleppo.
Visiting the historical and economic sites here, Boroujerdi stressed that Iran will stand by Syria in the fight against terrorism, and will also support the country to achieve ‘final victory’ and make the Syrian soil free from the terrorist groups.
Aleppo Governor Hussein Diab, for his part, underlined that his country gains new victory over the terrorists every day thanks to the sacrifice of its sons, the solidarity between the nation and Army as well as the help from the allies and friends.
Diab further presented a report on damages caused by the terrorists to this historical city.
Boroujerdi, who is chairman of Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, arrived in Damascus on Tuesday, October 3.
Prior to his visit to Aleppo, he held talks with newly-elected Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly Hammoudeh al-Sabbagh and Foreign Minister of the country Walid al-Muallem on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
During his talks with al-Sabbagh, Boroujerdi conveyed to him the message of his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani.
