Syrian Army shifts focus to east Homs after liberating entire east Hama pocket
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) liberated the entire east Hama pocket that was under the Islamic State’s (ISIS) control this week, marking the end of the terrorist group’s rule over this part of the Salamiyah District.
Not long after liberating this area, the Syrian Arab Army turned their attention to the east Homs front, where they attacked the Islamic State’s positions near the Jubb Al-Jarrah District.
Led by the 4th Division and Qalamoun Shield forces of the 3rd Division, the Syrian Arab Army liberated a large part of the east Homs pocket, including several small towns in this desert region.
According to a military report, the Syrian Arab Army liberated the towns of Tal Shihab, Al-Wudayhi, Salam Sharqi, Umm Tuwaynah Al-Shamaliyah, and Al-Lajj in the east Homs pocket.
The report added at least 20 Islamic State terrorists were killed and another 13 militants were wounded during the Syrian Arab Army’s advance in east Homs on Thursday.
As a result of this advance, the Syrian Arab Army is now on the verge of liberating the entire east Homs pocket that is under the Islamic State’s occupation.
