The Pakistani electronic and print media in their reports gave wide coverage to the warning of Iran against blacklisting of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Leading English news daily ‘Dawn’ in its report said that Iran warns US on designating Revolutionary Guards a terrorist group.

The newspaper said the Iranian government spokesman Mohammad Bagher Nobakht has told media that Guards are the defender of the nation.

Daily the ‘Nation’ reported that Iran has said that the United States would be siding with Daesh if it designated the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organisation.

‘If the US wants to put the Guards in the terrorist list, it puts itself in the camp of terrorists,’ government spokesman Mohammad Bagher Nobakht told reporters.

‘Express Tribune’ said that Iranian government spokesperson said that the world should be “thankful” to the Revolutionary Guards for its fight against Daesh and other terrorist groups.

“By taking a stance against the Revolutionary Guards and designating it a terrorist group, the Americans would be joining the terrorists’ camp,” Mohammad Baqer Nobakht said in a weekly news conference broadcast live on state television.

Another daily ‘The News’ said that A top aide to Iran’s Supreme Leader warned the United States against designating the elite Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist group, saying Tehran has “all options on the table”.

“The Americans are supporting Daesh. That’s why they are angry with the Revolutionary Guards. But they are too small to be able to harm the Revolutionary Guards,” Ali Akbar Velayati, the top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Urdu daily Nawa-e-waqt said that Iran said that if any country that brands the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) a terrorist organization would be treated itself as a terrorist country.

Samaa Tv Channel reported that Iran has warned the United States against designating its Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist group.

Geo Tv channel added that Iran warns the US on designating Guards as ‘terrorist group’.

Abtak tv said that Iran warned the United States against designating its Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization, saying it would put the United States on the side of Daesh.
