President: Victories of Syrian army legitimizes in defending rights
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said on Wednesday victories of the Syrian army and the stands adopted by Syrian government and its allies led to of terrorism and legitimized rights of world countries in defending their territorial integrity.
President Assad made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari in Damascus on Wednesday.
Ongoing developments in the region and the world proved that the policies adopted by the Syrian government from early stages of the imposed war in response to the policies of other countries in the region and west were timely and correct.
These countries tried to attain their interests through expansion of chaos and destabilizing the Middle East region regardless of its catastrophic consequences, he said.
Syria with reliance to the supports made by its allies mainly the Islamic Republic of Iran in political scene brought consecutive defeats to terrorists, he said.
The Iranian envoy, for his part, said the victory of Syria in fight against terrorists and restoration of security to the country was regarded a victory for Iran and all those nations who have faith in defending their countries and independence.
In the meeting, both sides underlined common stances in fight against terrorism and finding ways out of current problems and challenges in the region.
Iranian envoy met with Syrian president and the country’s foreign minister along with some other high-ranking officials in Damascus.
