Syrian Army attempts to split jihadist pocket near occupied Golan Heights

6 December 2017 15:26

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is working to split in half the jihadist controlled Beit Jinn pocket near the occupied Golan Heights, a military source in Damascus reported.

According to the military source, the Syrian Arab Army is striving to split the pocket in two as a way to force the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham to surrender their last positions in the West Ghouta region of Damascus.

Recently, the Syrian Arab Army’s elite 42nd Brigade (Ghiath Forces) scored an important advance inside the Beit Jinn pocket, capturing the strategic hills of Tal Barda’yah that overlook the town of Mughar Al-Mir.
