Iran Commander: Palestinians to Own Israel’s Arsenal Soon

7 December 2017 21:24

Deputy Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri strongly condemned a recent decision by the US to relocate its Tel Aviv embassy to al-Quds (Jerusalem), and said the Palestinians will take possession of Israel’s weapons stockpiles in future.

“The Zionist regime’s arsenal will belong to the Palestinians in the near future,” General Jazzayeri said.

“Israel has occupied the Palestinian territory, and the continuation of the Palestinian people’s struggle against this cancerous tumor (Israel) indicates that the occupiers will never see peace and will have no choice but to leave the land or to perish,” he added.

General Jazzayeri reiterated that the US and Israeli rulers have wrongly thought that they can exploit the situation in the region and reach their long-term goals regarding the Palestinian territories.

General Jazzayeri’s remarks came after US President Donald Trump officially declared the city of al-Quds  as Israel’s capital, despite warnings from around the world that the measure risks triggering a fresh wave of violence in the Middle East.

In a speech at the White House on Wednesday, Trump said his administration would also begin a years-long process of moving the American embassy in Tel Aviv to the holy city.

The announcement was a major shift by Washington that overturns decades of US foreign policy.

Palestinian leaders had previously warned the move would threaten a two-state solution.

Israel has occupied East Jerusalem since the 1967 Middle East war. It annexed the area in 1980 and sees it as its exclusive domain. Under international law, the area is considered to be occupied territory.
