Addressing an academic conference in Tehran on Thursday, Major General Jafari pointed to the Islamic Revolution’s internal and external areas of activity, saying the Revolution’s external aspect has materialized in the Islamic resistance front.
The Islamic resistance is gaining more victories in a surprisingly way and expanding its influence in the region and the world, the general added.
“Over the past 20 years, we have been witnessing successive victories for the axis of resistance and defeat of the enemies of the Islamic Revolution in all Middle East countries, and by God’s grace, we are going to see victory in Yemen in the near future,” he underscored.
The commander also noted that the axis of resistance front has achieved victories under the inspiration of experiences of the Sacred Defense (the Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s), saying the regional nations have realized that they can stand against tyranny by relying on their own capabilities.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in Yemen in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
In late November, the IRGC commander said Iranian military advisers are providing assistance for Ansarallah movement at the request of Yemen.
“Our assistance to the Resistance Front has been provided at the request of their people and their governments, and Yemen is one of the examples (of such assistance),” Major General Jafari said.
“Today, Yemen is ruled by the Ansarullah (Houthi Resistance Movement), and Iran’s assistance is confined to advisory missions and spiritual support, which Yemen needs most,” he noted.
