Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Foils Terrorists’ Plan to Attack Gov’t Positions in Hama
The terrorists sustained heavy losses and casualties in fierce clashes with the Syrian army troops in Northern Hama.
The army also hit hard the military positions of the terrorists in other key provinces across Syria.
The Syrian Army’s missile units, tipped off by intelligence agents in Northern Hama, shelled heavily the movements and positions of the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) on Saturday, foiling the terrorists’ plan to attack the pro-government forces’ positions.
The missile units opened heavy fire at the movements and positions of a group of Al-Nusra that were preparing to attack the army positions in Qanat region in al-Zalaqiyat from al-Dahrouj Farms.
The missile attack inflicted major losses on the Al-Nusra and pre-empted their attack.
The Syrian Army troops continued offensive against the Al-Nusra Front in Southeastern Idlib, and forced them to retreat from more regions on Saturday.
The army soldiers captured the village of al-Lobeideh al-Sharqi and Jabal (mount) al-Kafi East of the settlement of al-Haqiyah.
The army men killed a number of terrorists and captured many others in the clashes.
Field sources reported earlier on Saturday that Jamil Saleh has been selected as the Chief Commander of the terrorist groups’ Joint Operation Room in Idlib to lead the militants to slow down the Syrian Army rapid advances in the region.
The sources reported that the terrorists, operating in Northern Hama and Sothern Idlib, have selected Jamil Saleh as the chief commander of their Joint Operation Room.
The sources said that Jamil Saleh, who is the commander of Jeish al-Izzah, will lead the Joint Operation Room of the groups of the Al-Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham, al-Turkistani party, Jund al-Malaham, Jeish al-Ahrar, Jeish al-Izzah, Jeish al-Nasr, Jeish Idlib al-Hor and Nouralddeen al-Zinki, Faylaq al-Sham, Jeish al-Thani, Jeish al-Nukhbah and Ajnad al-Qoqaz.
Saleh was the commander who ordered missile attacks on the town of Mahrada and the man who prevented implementation of reconciliation plan in Mahrada and Qala al-Maziq.
The Syrian Army troops managed to drive the terrorists back from several key regions in their push towards the Abu al-Dhohour airbase in Southeastern Idlib on Saturday, deploying at the gates of a key militant-held region.
The army men advanced against terrorists in Sinjar region in Southeastern Idlib and captured the villages of Hawa, Tal Amarah, Um Moweilat Janoubiyeh, Sheikh Baraka and Rasm Saeed Region.
Meantime, a field source said that the army soldiers are now only 3.5 km away from the town of Sinjar, deploying 16 km away from Abu al-Dhohour airbase.
The Syrian Army troops raided terrorists’ positions in Eastern Ghouta again and drove militants out of more lands on Saturday.
The army men, backed up by the army’s artillery unit and Air Force, attacked the terrorists near the Vehicles Management Center in Harasta region, taking control over several buildings near the Police Anti-Crime Office in Southwestern Harasta near the town of Arbin.
The army men, meantime, seized control over eight buildings in al-Ajami neighborhood in the town of Harasta and a mosque in the town.
Local sources conformed earlier on Saturday that over 75 terrorists, including several key commanders, have been killed and many more wounded in the Syrian Army operation in Eastern Ghouta in the last eight days.
The sources said that 77 terrorists, including several commanders, of Al-Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham and Faylaq al-Rahman have been killed and many more have been wounded in the army attacks in the Vehicle Management Center in Eastern Ghouta in the last 8 days.
Khalid Ibrahim al-Khouli, a field commander of Ahrar al-Sham, Hassan al-Boushi nom de guerre Abu al-Foz, the field commander of Faylaq al-Rahman and Moslem Abu Hamad and another key commander are reportedly among the dead terrorists.
