India: Israeli effigies burn across India ahead of Netanyahu visit
Dozens of Muslims participated in a rally in New Delhi, Saturday, to protest against an upcoming visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, due to the recent position on Jerusalem by US President Donald Trump.
Protesters with placards and flags took part in the march before setting an Israeli effigy plastered with pictures of Netanyahu on fire. Reportedly, about 1,000 villages across the country held similar protests.
Netanyahu is due to arrive in India for an official six-day visit, despite India’s positive vote in the UN on rejecting US recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.
