Breaking: Syrian forcess claw back key town from terrorists in Idlib
In the midst of an ongoing counter-attack to reclaim all settlements and points lost to Islamist militias in the past 48 hours, elite forces of the Syrian Arab Army have taken back control of a stronghold village on the border of Hama and Idlib provinces.
According to military-affiliated sources, troops of the elite Tiger Forces Division have – with the assistance of heavy Russian airstrikes – managed to reclaim the fortress village of Atshan, located on the provincial borders of Hama and Idlib.
Atshan has been the sight of brutal battles between army forces and rebel groups for the last five days. It has witnessed a double ambush conducted by Syrian troops against jihadist fighters, killing almost one hundred in total.
Until its recent recapture moments ago, the village had been taken on Sunday by militants of the Ahrar al-Sham and Free Syrian Army factions and to this end it may very well change hands yet again.
