26 January 2018 19:25

Atyah Allah, the highest ranking commander of the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in Aleppo province, was assassinated by unknown attackers, dissident-affiliated websites reported on Friday.

Atyah Allah was reportedly traveling with his convoy along the Kafr Karmin-Atareb Road, when unknown assailants opened fire at his vehicle.

The Al-Nusra commander and some of his bodyguards were killed instantly before they could reach their destination in the Western countryside of Aleppo province.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Field sources confirmed last week that Abu Hamzah Turki, a notorious field commander of Al-Nusra Front was assassinated by unknown attackers in Northwestern Idlib.

The sources said that Al-Nusra Commander Abu Hamzah Turki was assassinated by unknown raiders near the town of Bireh Armanaz in Northwestern Idlib.

Tensions and differences have been on rise among terrorists after the rapid advances of the Syrian Army troops in Southeastern Idlib.
