Latest update from northern Aleppo front – map
The Turkish Army and their allies from the Euphrates Shield forces continued Operation Olive Branch, Thursday, targeting several areas under the control of the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) in the Afrin Canton.
Backed by airstrikes from their air force, the Turkish military and their allies began the day by storming the key mountain of Jabal Barsaya in the northeastern part of the Afrin Canton.
The Turkish forces were able to capture three hilltops and several trenches near the mountain; however, they were unable to take full control of Jabal Barsaya for the second day in a row.
Meanwhile, at another front, the Kurdish forces attempted to retake the town of Adamanli in a bid to reverse the Turkish gains a few days ago.
The battle for both Jabal Barsaya and Adamanli are still ongoing at the moment, as both parties involved attempt to gain the upper-hand in the Afrin Canton.
