The Iraqi forces have managed to purge Takfiri terrorists from vast areas in the province of al-Anbar.

The Iraqi Joint Forces Command Center announced that the army units backed by volunteer forces in a joint operation took back 80 percent of the al-Anbar province after weeks of heavy clashes with the ISIL Takfiri terrorists.

“Iraqi forces are advancing in Anbar province after they managed to seize full control over central Ramadi,” Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasoul said.

“The Iraqi army and popular forces are also retaking full control over the Northern and Southern parts of the Ramadi city,” the spokesman underlined.

He announced that the cleanup operation is still underway to hunt the remaining members of the ISIL in the region, adding that the Iraqi army and popular forces defused tens of bombs in the Iraqi province.

The Iraqi army and volunteer forces have pressed ahead with their military operations against the Takfiri militants in Anbar Province, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists.

According to latest reports, army troops and al-Hashd al-Shaabi fighters continued to advance against the militants in the cities of Ramadi and Fallujah in Anbar province.

Reports also said that foreign members and leaders of the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group are escaping from the Western province of Anbar after major advances by Iraq’s security and popular forces.

On Tuesday, the Iraqi army and tribal forces, backed by the country’s warplanes, raided ISIL’s defense lines in Albu Hayat near Ramadi, and retook full control over the Western side of the region after killing a large number of the terrorists.

The military sources said that the Western territories of Albu Hayat in Eastern side of Haditha and Western side of Ramadi were recaptured form the ISIL in a joint operation of the Iraqi army and tribal fighters.
