Two Israeli soldiers have been injured in an explosion near the Lebanese border, a report says.

On Wednesday, Israel’s Channel 2 reported that the two soldiers, who were paratroopers, were wounded by “friendly fire.”

The report said that the troopers were hospitalized at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.

Earlier in August, four Israeli soldiers, who had crossed the Lebanese border , were injured in a landmine explosion inside Lebanese territory.

Following the incident, Lebanon’s army said in a statement that the Israeli soldiers had crossed the UN-designated Blue Line on foot and penetrated “roughly 400 meters inside Lebanon.”

The army described the incident as a “new violation of Lebanese sovereignty.”

The Blue Line (the border fence between Israel and Lebanon) was drawn up in 2000 by the UN. The area is heavily mined.
