Iran to construct solar power plant near Tehran
Iran plans to construct a 1,500MW solar power plant along Tehran-Qom Highway, according to the managing-director of Qom Province Electricity Distribution Company.
Addressing a large crowd of worshippers before Friday Prayers in the holy city of Qom, Mehdi Ahanin Panjeh said construction of the power plant would largely help strengthen the national grid.
‘Increasing electricity generation from solar sells is one of the main agendas of the Electricity Distribution Company both in Qom and the entire country,’ the official said.
Qom Province Electricity Distribution Company is ready to sign 20-year guaranteed agreements with citizens who are willing to install solar sells over their roofs, he added.
