3 February 2018 11:35

The Syrian Army dispatched a large number of elite forces from Southeastern Idlib to Northeastern Hama to join their comrades in battle against ISIL terrorists, military sources confirmed on Friday.

The sources said that the operation of the Syrian Army’s elite Tiger Forces Division against terrorists in Idlib province has come to an end for now following its capture of the Abu al-Dhohour airbase and the regions around the military installation.

Preliminary reports suggest that the Tiger Forces will now be deployed to Northeastern Hama where they will lead other Syrian Army and allied paramilitary units in an operation to eradicate ISIL throughout the region.

The ISIL with an estimated strength of at least 1,000 front-line fighters currently maintain a rather large bastion in Northwestern Syria where they control nearly one hundred towns and villages.

In a relevant development on Tuesday, the Syrian army troops captured another strategic region in Northeastern Hama after a tough battle with terrorists.

The army men engaged in a tough battle with the ISIL in Northeastern Hama and captured a key hill overlooking the village of Rasm al-Dahal North of the villages of Qanafez.

The ISIL suffered heavy casualties and its military hardware sustained major damage in the attack.
