Sharing Nowruz joy with thousands of homeless in Los Angeles
Iranians are preparing to celebrate Nowruz or the new Persian year on Tuesday. Each year, Iranian Americans in Los Angeles use this opportunity to share the joy with the homeless people. They team up with the Midnight Mission to feed some 2,000 men, women and children in the city’s Skid Row section. Nowruz marks beginning of spring and usually occurs on or around March 21. It is celebrated in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin and the Balkans.
