Syria: Jeish Al-Islam Terrorists to Leave Douma Soon Following Evacuation Agreement

31 March 2018 10:12

Jeish al-Islam terrorist group, in a deal with Russian mediators, agreed on leaving their strongholds in the town of Douma for other militant-held regions, local sources reported on Friday.

The sources claimed that a Russian-mediated evacuation agreement between Jeish al-Islam and the Syrian government has been reached, adding that the destination of the relocation plan has not yet specified.

Reports about Jeish al-Islam’s apparent agreement to leave Eastern Ghouta are not yet confirmed by official sources.

Field sources said on Thursday that Jeish al-Islam terrorists called on the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria to help them move from Douma in Eastern Ghouta to Eastern Qalamoun or Dara’a, a second request that had already been turned down by both Damascus and the Russian Center.

The sources said that the main obstacle to an agreement in Douma was Jeish al-Islam’s refusal to be transported to Northern Syria.

The sources added that Jeish al-Islam claims to be at loggerheads with the Turkish-backed militants in Northern Syria and, hence, is adamant to a relocation to Aleppo or Idlib.
