“We should ask all those countries which interfere in Syria, specially Saudi Arabia, to stop financial and military support for extremist and armed groups in Syria and move them out of the country,” Khazayee said, addressing a meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.

He warned of the humanitarian crisis in Syria, and said the presence of the terrorist groups in the country has not only prevented dispatch of humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, but also endangered security and stability of the Middle-East and the world.

Khazayee underlined the necessity for providing the ground for the Syrian people to find a political solution to the crisis in their country, and announced Iran’s preparedness to send humanitarian aids to Syria and render all-out assistance to the peaceful settlement of the problems in the country.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underlined that Tehran is in favor of negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition groups to create stability in the Middle Eastern country.

In November 2012, Iran hosted a meeting between the representatives of the Syrian government and opposition to encourage them to start talks to find a political solution to their problems. The National Dialogue Conference kicked off work in Tehran mid November with the motto of ‘No to Violence, Yes to Democracy”.

The meeting brought together almost 200 representatives of various Syrian ethnicities, political groups, minorities, the opposition, and state officials.

But news reports in January said that Saudi Arabia is leading secret communications to derail political settlement of the Syrian crisis

The Palestinian al-Manar newspaper said that secret meetings have been held in Paris and Riyadh in January with the participation of the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia, France, Turkey and Qatar to derail the political efforts underway to resolve the crisis in Syria.

The newspaper said that the meetings seek hindering the political solution in favor of launching an aggression on Syria with Saudi and Qatari funding and US-Israeli intervention.

Al-Manar quoted informed sources as saying that Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal and Saudi Intelligence Chief Bandar Bin Sultan are leading these communications with US and Israeli officials to adopt a plan to wage an aggression on Syria.

The sources said that Saud al-Faisal has met with Israeli intelligence official in Paris, adding that Bandar Bin Sultan is responsible for enhancing the security and military relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.

Many media and intelligence reports have revealed the role of the regimes of Qatar and Saudi Arabia in a series of crimes and terrorist bombings in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq through their support to terrorism and terrorists.
