Iranian Armed Forces warns Canada over anti-Iran motion
A senior spokesman for Iranian Armed Forces warned Thu. that sinister plots aimed at undermining Iran’s defense power will face harsh response, referring to a Canadian motion that has blacklisted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Brigadier General Abolgazl Shekarchi, a senior spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces, said the “provocative” measure by the Canadian government that demands immediate cease of all negotiations on restoring diplomatic ties with Iran, and designates the IRGC as a “listed terrorist entity”, is under influence of the “international Zionist policies”.
He deemed the motion against the security and stability in the region, calling on Canadian authorities to apologize to the Iranian nation and reconsider “this unwise decision” as soon as possible.
“The source of such destabilizing decisions is the Zionist regime and the US,” he added.
Shekarchi maintained that the Canadian motion is an attempt to rally forces against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as one of the powerful defense mechanisms of Iran.
He stressed that the Iranian Armed Forces, including the IRGC, will never fall into the trap of such propaganda as they continue to maintain and develop the country’s defense capabilities.
