Sunni Friday Prayer of Shahin Dezh, Mamousta Hasel Balqchi in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA), Eid al-Ghadeer is the greatest Eid in Islamic narrations, since according to Muhammad Prophet (PBUH) his mission became accomplished on this day.

“Al-Ghadeer is one of the greatest Eid of Muslims, a shared and common point in Isalmic Ummah, and the manifestation of dignity and unity among Muslims,” stressed the Sunni cleric.

“As for Ghadir incident, there stand a consensus in the authentic books of Sunni and prophetic hadiths,” stressed the religious cleric.

Beckoned to the hatched plots of enemies in parting Muslims and increasing dispersion in the World of Islam, the religious cleric underscored, ” they try their very utmost to provoke conflicts and showdown in Islamic world in a bid to distance Muslims from divine Islam.”

“In Islamic society, Shiite and Sunnis are brothers and respect each other’s’ takes and thoughts,” stressed the religious cleric.

“The part Imam Ali (PBUH) played in Islamic society was one-of-a-kind,” stressed the religious cleric noting no one else could play such role to date.

Millions of Iranian Muslims have commemorated the Eid al-Ghadeer, marking the occasion of the appointment by Islam’s Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) of Imam Ali (PBUH) as his successor.

The auspicious occasion is annually marked with various ceremonies and rituals in different cities on the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah on the Islamic calendar.

On March 10, 632 CE, in the tenth year of Hijra, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) received a revelation from God, ordering him to halt the pilgrims at a pond called Khum, a place near Mecca, and to designate Imam Ali (PBUH) as his successor in guiding and ruling Muslims.

Eid al-Ghadeer is also known as Eid al-Akbar (the greatest Eid) in Islamic narrations, since Muslims believe that the mission of all the previous messengers of Allah became accomplished on this day.
