19 August 2018 19:45

The Syrian Army forwarded more troops and equipment to Badiyeh (desert) of Deir Ezzur on Sunday to reinvigorate the government forces against the remaining pockets of ISIL terrorists in the province.

The army moved a large convoy of forces from the town of al-Mayadeen on the Western bank of the Euphrates River towards al-Dowayer and al-Kashama regions along the road to the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur to reinvigorate the government forces’ positions in Badiyeh of Deir Ezzur.

The army’s convoy included hundreds of soldiers, hundreds of military and armored vehicles and a large volume of logistics.

In the meantime, the army men engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL on Saturday in Badiyeh of al-Sabikhan and Albu Kamal region in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, repelling the terrorists’ offensives after inflicting heavy casualties on them.

Earlier this month, the army men engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL in the town of al-Sayal in Eastern Deir Ezzur and managed to fend off their attack after inflicting major casualties on them.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery units opened heavy fire on terrorists’ positions and movements in the region.

According to a report from the National Defense Forces (NDF), the ISIL attempted to enter regions near the town of Albu Kamal.

The ISIL left behind its casualties and retreated from the battlefield.
