At least two soldiers serving with the US-led foreign forces in Afghanistan were killed after suspected Taliban militants launched an attack against a military convoy in Afghanistan’s province of Parwan.
“Two ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) service members died as a result of an enemy forces attack in Eastern Afghanistan on December 12, 2014,” the western military contingent said in a statement on Saturday, press tv reported.

The military alliance did not disclose the nationality of the victims, nor did it say where exactly the assault took place.

However, an ISAF official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the attack occurred late on Friday and struck US-led foreign forces near Bagram air base, situated 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) Southeast of the city of Charikar in Parwan province.

Bagram is home to thousands of US military personnel and civilian contractors.

The airbase has come under numerous rocket attacks since it was set up by the US army after it invaded Afghanistan more than thirteen years ago.

The Taliban militants have recently stepped up their attacks against the Afghan troops, foreign forces and civilians.
